CHARITY AWARENESS STUNT STAFF
We were thrilled to work with Pall Mall Medical to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month- April! Pall Mall Medical is a private healthcare provider with locations around the country, such as in Manchester, Liverpool, & Leeds.
WHAT DID OUR CHARITY AWARNESS STUNT STAFF DO?
We provided PR stunt staff to walk through the streets of Manchester, dressed in poo emoji and toilet paper costumes, and armed with placards. Additionally, we distributed informative leaflets to the public.
They were briefed with various important bowel cancer facts beforehand to educate the public about the disease, such as:
- Each year, almost 17,000 people in the UK die of the disease which is the nation’s second biggest cancer killer.
- Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer, after lung cancer.
- The three main symptoms of bowel cancer are blood in stools, changes in bowel habits – such as more frequent, looser stools, and stomach pain.
- Nine out of ten times, it’s the over 60s who are more likely to develop the disease.
- For those confused between the two, bowel cancer and colon cancer are the same in that they both develop from the inner lining of the large bowel or large intestine. Colon cancer is more specific to the colon part of the bowel, while bowel cancer can also affect the rectum and the anus.
Additionally, our ‘dirty’ protest even gained local press attention, click here to read more.
Moreover, our staff are all enthusiastic and personable, making them an ideal fit for a PR stunt. We were delighted to help raise awareness for such a vitally important cause. It is difficult to balance the humour of this event with its serious message- but our stunt staff managed to walk this line perfectly.
