Promoting your business at a service station can be surprisingly effective, especially if your target audience includes travellers or commuters. Here are several compelling reasons to consider promoting your business at a service station:
1. High Foot Traffic
- Service stations attract constant streams of visitors – drivers, passengers, delivery personnel, and tourists.
- Many stop not only for fuel but also for snacks, restrooms, or quick breaks, giving your promotion a broad reach.
2. Captive Audience
- People waiting in line for fuel, food, or for the bathroom are more likely to notice signage, flyers, or digital displays. They’re also much more likely to engage with activations – people are looking for some stimulation after staring at the motorway for hours.
- This idle time creates a unique opportunity to make an impression without much competition for attention.
3. Strategic Location
- Many service stations are located on bustling roads, motorways, or interchanges, making them perfect for local or regional business promotion. This is especially useful if your business is nearby or if you want to attract customers passing through the area.
4. Cost-Effective Marketing
- Advertising at service stations is often cheaper than traditional media like TV, radio, or billboards.
- Options like pump toppers, window decals, or poster displays can be budget-friendly yet visible.
- It is often cheaper to rent space at a service station than in a traditional shopping centre.
5. Brand Recall Through Repetition
- Commuters or locals who frequent the same station will see your message multiple times, reinforcing brand recognition.
6. Flexible Advertising Options
- You can use digital screens, printed materials, branded items, or interactive experiences like giveaways product demonstrations or QR code discounts. Push Promotions can supply staff to work at such interactions.
- Customisation allows you to tailor your message to the audience and location.
7. Targeted Demographics
- Depending on the service station’s location, you can target:
- Truckers or commercial drivers (great for B2B services)
- Families on road trips (perfect for hospitality or retail)
- Daily commuters (ideal for gyms, coffee shops, auto services)
- Truckers or commercial drivers (great for B2B services)
8. Partnership Opportunities
- Collaborate with the service station to offer cross-promotions or discounts, e.g., “10% off coffee with your receipt from (Your Business).”
- This encourages foot traffic to your store or online platform.
Here at Push Promotions we have supplied staff for service station promotion for years. It is a great place to get your brand out there, actively engage with interested members of the public, and ultimately make sales! For example we worked with Samsung:
We helped Samsung put an end to the classic ‘Are We There Yet?’ road trip complaints, by promoting their newest Galaxy Tab S10 FE & FE+ at Rugby service station.
The road trip rescue wall consisted of a station made of tablets. Here families could bust their boredom by getting creative & trying out the tablet.
There were Samsung product trainers onsite to help with the product and consumer interaction, and to answer all tech-related questions. Therefore, our role was simply to encourage participation, leaving the heavy-technical-lifting to the experts.
