Alcohol Sampling promotional staff with a mobile sampling staff

Product sampling, or ‘trying before you buy’ is proven to boost brand awareness and sales! Here, Push Promotions will look back on some of the alcohol sampling events that we have previously staffed.

We previously published an article titled ‘Considerations For An Alcohol Sampling Event; which explored the various concerns around alcohol sampling events and how to avoid them. This included the legality of such events, avoiding locations where there are likely to be a significant number of drivers, under 18s, immoderate alcohol consumption, and more. This article will detail some of the successful alcohol sampling events that we, Push Promotions, have provided product sampling staff for.

With more than 3000 staff on our database, we can provide product sampling staff to promotional events anywhere around the UK. Our staff can distribute anything from alcohol to newspapers, cosmetics, and food samples. All of our staff are enthusiastic, skilled, and experienced. They understand the importance of working sensibly and professionally at a sampling event, especially when it comes to food allergies and alcohol consumption.

Mozart

Push Promotions provided product sampling staff to work on behalf of Mozart in April 2022, at Birmingham’s Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. Mozart is an Austrian brand that combines the worlds of chocolate and alcoholic spirits to create the Mozart Chocolate Liqueur. Our staff was tasked with distributing samples of various Mozart products and encouraging the public to purchase some as the ‘perfect gift for adults this Easter’.

All of our staff was provided with The Mozart Brand Book before their shift which thoroughly explained the company’s fundamentals, history, craftsmanship, products, and branding. This ensured that our staff were fully prepared to answer any questions from the public, and could describe the journey of each product from its initial ingredients all the way to packaging.

Mozart also asked our product samplers to take photos on the day, and provide feedback regarding the most popular products, average consumer demographic, number of samples given, etc.

Absolut

Push Promotions supplied staff to vodka-brand Absolut for their ‘Nothing Beats Together #IRL’ campaign to celebrate the lifting of lockdown in Summer 2021. The campaign celebrated the importance of meaningful connections, and how having a drink with friends, or even a stranger, has never tasted better! We supported the campaign in Birmingham, Cardiff, and Manchester by providing brand ambassadors, product sampling staff, and event managers to run the interactive event.

A large Absolut billboard was set up with 2 plinths at either end where pairs of consumers would stand. Absolut bottles would then begin changing colours, when both bottles turned blue the pair of participants would press the buzzer, and if they pressed it in time, a hatch would open to reveal their prize- a free drink sample of Absolut Watermelon Vodka, lemonade, and lime. Participants were also encouraged to take photos with their sample and the Absolut billboard, and post them on social media with the #TogetherIRL.

Our brand ambassadors were responsible for running this event from start to finish! They ensured that all participants were over 18 through ID checks, made sure that everything remained Covid-safe through queue management and regular sanitising, prepared the drink samples, encouraged public participation, and made sure that individuals only participated once through hand-stamps.

There was a lot for our staff to juggle throughout the campaign, but all of our ambassadors were rigorously briefed and trained beforehand to ensure that they were ready to hit the ground running on the day! Our ambassadors also wore branded Absolut uniforms to further raise brand awareness.

Aperol Spritz

Aperol Spritz Main

In 2021, we provided staff to promote Aperol Spritz. Originating from Padua, Italy, Aperol is a bitter Italian aperitif made of gentian, rhubarb, and cinchona amongst other ingredients, and presently manufactured by the Campari Group. It is often served as an Aperol Spritz- Aperol mixed with prosecco and soda water.

Our product sampling staff promoted the Aperol company, founded in 1919, from a stationary cargo bike that was decorated with Aperol branding, fake ivy, flags, and a huge electric sign!

Free alcoholic Aperol Spritz samples were distributed to members of the public, which were prepared by our staff on-site, on the day. Our sampling staff successfully spoke with consumers about the Aperol brand, allowing them to try the product for themselves, showing them how to prepare an Aperol Spritz cocktail, and raising brand awareness.

Vodbull

Although not specifically alcohol sampling, we worked with Vodbull UK to promote their huge student parties, which have become a staple of the Birmingham party scene since 1998.

We provided Vodbull with brand ambassadors for 2 weeks in September 2021, at the University of Birmingham campus, and Birmingham City University Campus. Our ambassadors engaged with thousands of students over ‘Freshers Fortnight’; promoting Vodbull events, answering questions, and encouraging fairgoers to follow Vodbull’s social media accounts.

Leafleting Staff handed out information printouts and freebies which Vodbull supplied. And a member of staff dressed in the Vodbull ‘bull’ mascot to further attract student attention!

Freshers Week is competitive, with near-hundreds of companies battling it out to secure student business, we therefore carefully selected staff from our network that we knew would best engage with the student demographic and get them excited about Vodbull!
