Promotional models jumping at a photoshoot

How doesn’t love the glitz and glamour of the movies? Push have been thrilled to work on several TV & film promotional campaigns over the years. Whether that is directly promoting a new or about-to-be-released piece of media, or promoting a related event. We absolutely love getting stuck in and embracing the entertainment world. Although it may not be as glamorous as the movies make it all out to be, such events are fun, engaging and fast-paced.

For these kinds of events we usually provide brand ambassadors, character costume staff (mascot and chaperone), and promotional models. But with over 3000+ staff members on our books, we can provide a huge variety of talented, experienced, and personable staff members.

Barbie

Back in Summer 2023 our staff took to Westfield shopping centre to promote the iconic pink-filmed Barbie movie. The film broke box office records, encouraged movie-goers to dress in pink, and starred Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Our team promoted the movie on behalf of Vue cinemas.

Our staff were dressed in clothing provided by Beyond Retro clothing, which of course, included lots of Barbie pink! All of our staff were enthusiastic and embraced the Barbie vibes. Complete with human-size Barbie box for photo-opportunities, it was a great, and relatively simple promotional activity.

Netflix: Knives Out

We provided a team of promotional staff to work for a week at London’s King’s Cross station. Our staff were there promoting the Netflix film, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery! The film has received critical acclaim and stars Hollywood A-listers such as Daniel Craig, Kate Hudson, and Edward Norton!

It was an interactive and engaging promotional campaign on a large platform outside of Kings Cross station. The public was encouraged to have a go at completing a puzzle box, which if solved within 3 minutes, would see them rewarded with a token redeemable at a themed Glass Onion bar for a bespoke murder mystery cracker game! Moreover, staff were supplied with quotes and facts from the film to use when engaging with the public, making it an immersive experience.

Our Kings Cross station promotional staff were responsible for completing various duties throughout the week, such as:

  • Encouraging the public to take part in the activation
  • Offering the public guidance if they were struggling with the puzzle box
  • Stocking up the bar with crackers from the nearby storage lorry
  • Offering to take photos of the public with the magnifying glass mirror and character cut-outs (as well as encouraging them to post these photos on social media)
  • Keeping the activation area clean and tidy
  • Restoring the puzzle boxes after each use

Additionally, our team of promotional staff included a team leader who oversaw the event, ensured that all duties were completed and that staff worked to Push Promotions’ high standards.

Nickelodeon

To mark the start of Blackpool’s 2023 illuminations season, there was a spectacular parade featuring the stars of the kid’s channel- Nickelodeon. It is the biggest event in the seaside resort’s calendar! So Push Promotions were absolutely thrilled and honoured to be a part of it!

The parade took place over the Golden Mile. It included larger-than-life characters from shows such as SpongeBob Squarepants, PAW Patrol, Baby Shark, Monster High, and Transformers! The light switch took place outside for the first time in 3 years, and triggered the start of the 4-month long Illuminations season! This year, the lights were switched on by pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor. She is known for beloved hits such as ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’.

We provided costume staff and brand ambassadors for the parade:

  • One of their roles was to support the dancers on parade by being smiley, engaging, and generally looking like they were having the time of their lives! They also all had props with which they were encouraged to really go to town and add to the fun!
  • After the parade, our staff were issued with a bundle of LED wristbands. They distributed these wristbands to the crowd attending the post-parade concert and light switch-on.
  • Additionally, all staff took part in a full rehearsal of the illuminations parade earlier in the day at Blackpool airport.

The parade expected over 10,000 attendees and tickets were free, therefore it was a large-scale public event. Our staff were handpicked to ensure their suitability. Enthusiasm and high energy were also key for this event. So we were sure to provide staff who fully embraced the fun and festive atmosphere, and made the parade one to remember! They represented Nickelodeon appropriately and effectively, striking the perfect balance between fun and sensible.

Secret Cinema

We provided some of our finest promotional models for a photoshoot in Birmingham City Centre. The photoshoot was for Secret Cinema and was photographed by Dave Nelson.

Secret Cinema is bringing its interactive and immersive storytelling experience to Birmingham for the first time in Summer 2023! Tell me more, tell me more! Birmingham’s NEC will be transformed into the corridors of Rydell High for a unique showing of the nation’s favourite musical- Grease. Secret Cinema productions transport the audience to the world of the film, blurring the boundaries between performer and audience, and set and reality. The pink ladies and T-birds come to the Midlands!

Push’s promotional models wore American-style letterman jackets emblazoned with the word ‘BIRMINGHAM’. Signalling that the iconic 1978 American musical will be coming to the city. They also wore their own jeans and footwear.

The photoshoot took place around the city centre in well-known spots. For example, the rainbow steps at Grand Central Train Station, by the Bullring Bull, Centenary Square, and Birmingham Town Hall.

We also provided staff for a fun photoshoot at the NEC itself, alongside the iconic Pink Ladies convertible car! Attitude was everything!

Netflix: YOU

‘Hello You’! We supplied promotional staff to various UK locations to promote the latest season of Netflix’s smash hit YOU starring Penn Badgley.

The new season was set in London, and this interactive and engaging promotional interaction focused on a British staple- tea! Our staff oversaw a ‘bloody’ version of the classic teacups fairground ride, reflecting the murder mystery nature of YOU’s latest season. The also encouraged the public to take a complimentary hot ‘bloody tea’ (berry herbal). Additionally, passersby were offered branded teabag pouches to take home and enjoy whilst watching the show.

Fully embracing the show, our promo staff reflected the language of Joe Goldburg whenever possible, using his most iconic lines to entice the public to engage with the activation.
