Comic-Cons are large-scale events which include exhibition stands, Q&A panels, meet & greets, showcases, and more. They receive thousands upon thousands of attendees, and therefore, the running of a con requires a large and complex team. Luckily for you, here at Push Promotions, we can provide a lot of these necessary staff roles. For example:
1. Registration Staff – As the name suggests, registration staff register Comic-Con attendees as well as celeb guests and exhibitors. They can involve checking relevant identification, handing out good-bags, and issuing ID badges/stickers.
2. Green Room Staff – Make sure celebrity guests are comfortable and on schedule. They ensure that green-rooms are stocked with relevant supplies, and help the celeb get from A to B.
3. Panel Coordinators – Organise and run panels and Q&A sessions. Beforehand they ensure that mics are working, refreshments are fresh on the table, accompanying name-cards are in the right position. They also help to manage room capacity. They can then run the panel, asking questions, leading the conversation, conversing with the audience and panellists. This is therefore a big responsibility, and such staff must be confident, knowledgeable, and personable.
4. Crowd Control Staff – Given the scope and scale of these events, as well as the heightened excitement of attendees, such staff are essential. They manage lines and room capacities; this is important for meet & greets especially. Staff can also assist with car-parking.
5. Booth Coordinators – Help vendors with setup and logistics, for example, finding their exhibition space, physically setting up the stand, and offering general support.
6. Exhibition Stand Hosts – Work on behalf of individual exhibitors, promoting products, raising brand awareness, making sales, performing product demonstrations, offering free samples, and more. We’ve worked with hundreds of different brands at exhibitions around the country.
7. Workshop Leaders / Activity Hosts – Comic-Cons often host lots of varied and fun activities, for example drawing classes, costume competitions, readings, debates, and more. Staff are therefore required to lead and supporting the running of such events. Within our staff database we have staff with experience a multitude of industries, for example, gaming, crafts, cosmetics, and more. We are therefore confident that we have the staff that you need!
8. Here-To-Help Staff – Help con attendees with almost everything: directions, line control, handing out goody-bags, general support etc. They are a great way to make guests feels comfortable and offer an easily visible first line of support.
9. Merchandise Staff – As well as individual exhibitors, comic-cons always have a stand of official merchandise. Someone needs to be there to enthusiastically sell it- and up-sell if they can! We have staff with sales experience who are perfect for this role.
10. Box Office Staff- Staff to sell, amend, refund tickets before the event. They can work directly from a physical box office, over the phone, from a street pop-up, and more. They must know the ins and outs of the event to answer any FAQs.
And MANY MORE… For example, we also have staff with performing arts experience and Level 2 Food Hygiene Certification. They can therefore be hired for performances, promotional modelling work, and food/drink service.
We love working at Comic-Cons- the giddiness, enthusiasm, and passion of attendees, as well as organisers, is truly infectious! They are huge productions with hundreds, if not thousands, of moving pieces. We have previously worked at events such as Birmingham Comic-Con at the NEC, as well as other large-scale exhibitions, tradeshows and conferences around the country.
