Everybody loves a freebie! Food sampling events, which offer consumers a free sample of your food product are therefore extremely popular! They are proven to boost sales, increase brand awareness, and get consumers talking about your product! Push Promotions have been providing staff for food sampling events for over a decade. Keep reading for some examples.

Push Promotions Food Sampling Staff

We previously published an article titled ‘10 Tips For A Successful Food Sampling Event’ and described our own skilled, enthusiastic, and experienced food sampling staff. This article will highlight some of the successful food sampling events that we, Push Promotions, supplied the staff for.

With our 3000+ strong staff database, we can readily supply staff to anywhere in the UK. Including Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Many of our sampling staff hold Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificates and are available to hire upon request. We also have trained baristas, mixologists and bartenders. Therefore no matter what food-related staff you require, we are sure to be able to deliver.

Sports Hostesses

We are available to our clients 24/7, out of office hours, and on the weekends. Should you require additional last-minute brand ambassadors, or need to make briefing amendments, we are available 24/7 to assist you. If in the unlikely event that a member of our staff cancels their shift, we will get to work to look for a replacement immediately.

Additionally, we utilise our state-of-the-art interactive reporting tool, which allows our clients to view real-time KPIs, photographs, and feedback from their sampling event. Clients can take these away and analyse them to improve their product or service.

Push Promotions Food Sampling Examples

Kanzi

Food Sampling

Since 2015 Push Promotions have been supplying brand ambassadors and product sampling staff to Kanzi Apples. Developed in Belgium, Kanzi Apples are a natural cross between a Gala apple and a Braeburn apple. The Kanzi name originates from the Swahili word meaning ‘hidden treasure’.

We have supplied our promotional staff to work with Kanzi at exhibitions and in-store retail locations. Here our staff are friendly, enthusiastic, and engaging. They  distribute Kanzi product samples, and successfully raise brand awareness. At exhibitions, where there are upwards of 100 independent exhibitors, our staff ensures that Kanzi stands out and grabs the attention of every visitor.

LEON

Food Sampling Staff & Mascot

Push Promotions worked alongside LEON’s marketing team to execute a successful street marketing campaign. They used guerrilla tactics to promote their new Aoili sauce. LEON approached us directly after hearing positive word of mouth from other companies we had previously worked with.

Over a week, Push Promotions supplied 5 members of staff to create buzz for their Aoili sauce in various locations around London. We worked at London locations such as Kings Cross Train Station, Bankside, and Clapham Common.

3 of our staff worked as food sampling staff, with usherette trays of free samples which they used to engage with the general public. These brand ambassadors were also provided with branded LEON t-shirts to wear during the promotional event. They were therefore instantly recognisable.

Food Sampling Truck Staff

Another member of Push Promotions’ staff promoted the sauce by dressing up as a near 6-ft living jar of LEON’s Aoili sauce. What a way to grab public attention! However, due to the size of the costume, the staff member had to be a specific height- 5ft7-5ft9: something Push Promotions ensured before the event. We were also sure to supply a mascot chaperone for the event who worked alongside our costumed member of staff. They helped prevent our ‘sauce’ from tripping over in their costume when moving from location to location.

Urban Legend

This promotional campaign aimed to announce Urban Legend’s arrival to Brighton, spreading brand awareness through word of mouth and social media. Our staff were fully briefed on Urban Legend’s key messages prior to the event and were supplied with branded t-shirts.

Furthermore, our staff worked from a vibrantly pink Urban Legend cart! From here they engaged with members of the public, and promoted Urban Legend by offering free donut samples and explaining the brand’s key messages. They were also responsible for giving out BOGOF discount flyers and directing potential customers to the physical store to redeem this discount.

Brand Ambassador

There was also a large donut-stack photo-backdrop by the cart, which our ambassadors encouraged the public to take photos in front of and post online with the #ImABeliever hashtag. As always, our staff upheld high professional standards and successfully promoted Urban Legend’s ‘responsible indulgence’ message to hundreds of potential local customers!

John West

John West Foods, founded back in 1857, is the UK’s leading tinned fish and seafood brand. Back in 2019, Push Promotions supplied brand ambassadors, food sampling staff, and event managers to work with John West at various UK promo events.

Birmingham Food Sampling

All of our selected promotional staff held Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificates (or higher), had extensive experience working on previous food sampling campaigns and undertook online John West brand training prior to their shift. This meant that all our staff were fully prepared to hit the ground running at their respective promotional events. They were also able to answer any potential brand/product questions from members of the public.

Moreover, John West utilised our interactive reporting system, allowing them to view real-time KPIs and photographs. As the majority of John West’s events took place on a weekend or bank holidays, the company also benefited from Push Promotions’ 24/7 support.

Eataly

Food Sampling Staff

Here at Push Promotions, we have been working with Eataly (Eat Italian) at several in-store UK locations since 2021. We consistently provide them with fully trained and experienced food sampling staff, who work in-store most days. Here they offer free samples and selling food products. These food samples include all-Italian olives, milk, cheese, meats, chocolate, biscuits, etc.

Our staff successfully engage with the public, aiming to convert them from a food-sampler to an invested Eataly customer. As we supply staff daily, we have built up a great relationship with the company, and have therefore proven our reliability and consistency.

Mentos

Birmingham Food Sampling

Moreover, Push Promotions supplied extensively trained brand ambassadors for the “Who Says No To Mentos?” campaign at Grand Central Station, Birmingham. This was a large campaign that took over the train station, with 11 brand ambassadors and 1 event manager working 3 10-hour shifts.

There was an experiential aspect to this campaign which included 3 photo stations located around the train station. The public was encouraged by our ambassadors to record GIFs of themselves at the photo stations which were then displayed on the huge Media Eyes at the station entrances. One of the photo stations was a giant Mentos tube with a hidden photo booth inside!

We also supplied sampling staff to give out free samples of Mentos to passers-by and record public opinions about the product. Our interactive campaign reporting system shows real-time KPIs and therefore allows our clients to view and download qualitative and quantitative data.
