Promo teams are hired to represent a company and promote its brand, products and services. They act as the ‘face of the company’. They make direct connections with potential and existing customers, and therefore can significantly impact how your company is perceived. Consequently, it is vitally important that you hire the right promo team! Staff need to know their duties and responsibilities, be able to answer questions about your brand and products, and be personable and engaging. It’s no mean feat to secure a promo team that ticks all of these boxes but have no fear, this is where Push Promotions come in!

Push Promotions is the perfect place to source your promo team, with over 10 years of promotional staffing experience, and over 3000 staff members on our books. Within our staff network, we have expert knowledge and experience in nearly every industry sector and type of event. Types of Promo Team

The world of promotional marketing is huge, with different types of promotional teams and campaigns to choose from. What type of team you choose will depend on the goals of your campaign e.g. raise general brand awareness, promote a specific product, advertise a new store, get consumer feedback, etc. Your target audience and the location of your promo event will also impact what type of team you hire.

Street Teams

Street team marketing sees a group of brand ambassadors ‘hit the streets’ to promote a product, service, event, or brand. These teams bring promotion directly to potential customers- where they work, live, and spend their leisure time- rather than waiting for them to come to your company themselves. Street team staff have a variety of different but complementary skills to create an effective and far-reaching campaign.

Roadshow Marketing Teams

Roadshows are designed so that they can relocate easily and quickly, permitting nationwide brand promotion. Roadshows are therefore on wheels- with promotion carried out from a truck, van or wheelable platform. Word-of-mouth about a roadshow means that the public rush to see you before you move on to your next location. People don’t want to miss out! Find out more about roadshow marketing here.

There are 2 options with roadshow teams. Firstly, the same team of promo staff accompany the roadshow around the county. They, therefore, have the opportunity to fine-tune their promotional tactics throughout the campaign and generate a good rapport and team spirit amongst themselves. Secondly, a different local promo team can be hired for each individual roadshow location. This will reduce staff travel and accommodation costs and bring a fresh perspective to each roadshow location. Hiring staff with local knowledge will also allow them to tweak the campaign to suit the local audience. Both options have positives and negatives.

PR Stunt Teams

In its simplest terms, a PR stunt is a publicity event! It is a pre-planned promotional event, either by amateurs or professionals, to attract the attention of the public and bring awareness to a cause. This cause can be a charity, event, brand, product, or person! PR stunts aim to be eye-catching and attention-grabbing. Performance art, music, and big visuals are often used. Because of this, promo staff with musical theatre and performing experience are often hired. Read more about staffing a PR event through the link here.

Guerilla Marketing Teams

PR stunts and guerilla marketing campaigns are often grouped together, but in reality, they are actually quite different. Whereas PR stunts are often large-scale and eye-catching, guerilla marketing is instead designed to ambush people individually (or in small groups) creating a more personable experience. The promo team all need to know exactly what they are doing, and good teamwork is essential. The ability to connect and engage with people is an important skill for guerrilla marketing staff members. Product Sampling Teams

As the name suggests, product sampling teams distribute product samples to the general public. These samples can be near-anything, such as food, drinks, magazines, cosmetics, fragrances, keyrings, toys, stress balls, and more! The list goes on! Product sampling is more complex than it may first appear, however, and promo teams have various important responsibilities. The samples have to be contained, handled, and distributed appropriately. Staff must ensure that the samples are kept in prime condition and looking their best. This is especially important with food and drink samples of course, where temperature, hygiene, and utensils need to be considered. Staff also need to be aware of all ingredients (and even traces of ingredients) in samples, to prevent any allergic reactions or illness in the public.

Leaflet Distributing Teams

Leaflet distribution teams work together to hand out leaflets and other relevant promotional literature to the general public, often in high-footfall areas. They either have individual or group leaflet distribution targets. Leafleting is one of the most cost-effective forms of promotional activity and can result in a huge increase in brand awareness.
