Promotional staff at a UK marathon, engaging and cheering on runners

Push Promotions have been in business for well over a decade. Throughout this time we have supplied staff to hundreds of different promotional events and campaigns across the UK. One such location is Manchester.

A thriving city of culture and growing economy, Manchester is often represented by a bee. Full of Northern charm, the city is well connected to the rest of the country, and received thousands of tourists and commuters daily. The city itself has a population of over 500,000.

Renowned for music (e.g. Oasis, and The Happy Mondays), the city, of course, also plays host to rival Premier League champions United & City. Growing seemingly by the day, Manchester is the ideal location for a promotional event or campaign.

We have over 3000 members of staff on our books who are all enthusiastic, skilled, and experienced. No matter what team of staff you need we are sure to be able to provide. Our staff are located across the entire country so we can provide staff at relatively short notice. We also aim to provide local staff to save you money on staff transport and accommodation costs.

AJ Bell Great Run:

We were excited to work with AJ Bell at the UK Great Runs. We provide a team of staff to each event which includes brand ambassadors, mascots and chaperones. One of these events is the Manchester Great Run.

Each event involved a number of individual races such as a family Run, 10K and half marathon, which take place around the host city. There are also fun games and competitions to enjoy along the way!

AJ Bell is a financial services company and sponsors the Great Run. Their mascot is a musical pig, and therefore our character costume staff got suited and booted, entertaining the crowd and taking lots of photos as the pig. Mascot chaperones also worked alongside the mascot to help them dress, direct them around the area, and offer general assistance.

Our mascots always get truly stuck in- taking photos, attracting attention, dancing, and interacting with the crowd.

Our Great Run brand ambassadors handed out free branded items such as buffs (headbands), caps and bells to participants and spectators. They ensure that the product samples are distributed throughout the day so each new wave of participants and spectators feels the AJ Bell love.

Additionally, we have also provided event managers to oversee our teams of staff. They ensured that all jobs were completed to our high standards. They also act as a seamless point of communication between event organisers and staff on the ground.

Staff enthusiastically cheered on all of the runners and had a great time in the Great Run atmosphere. We have had a wonderful time working at The Great Runs throughout the year!

Pall Mall Medical:

We were thrilled to work with Pall Mall Medical to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month- April! Pall Mall Medical is a private healthcare provider with locations around the country, such as in Manchester, Liverpool, & Leeds.

We provided PR stunt staff to walk through the streets of Manchester, dressed in poo emoji and toilet paper costumes, and armed with placards. Additionally, we distributed informative leaflets to the public.

They were briefed with various important bowel cancer facts beforehand to educate the public about the disease, such as: Each year, almost 17,000 people in the UK die of the disease which is the nation’s second biggest cancer killer.

Additionally, our ‘dirty’ protest even gained local press attention, click here to read more.

We were delighted to help raise awareness for such a vitally important cause.

ESCV:

We provided Manchester conference staff to work at the 24th annual ESCV conference (European Society of Clinical Virology). This conference was the first in-person meeting of ESCV after 3 years due to the pandemic! This meant that attendees could discuss how clinical virology was affected by the pandemic as well as finally focus on other issues that had been overshadowed in recent years.

The conference took place over 3 full days. Push Promotions staff also worked the day before to help set up. Our staff successfully and professionally completed various roles throughout the conference:

  • Registration staff collated registration kits, and welcomed and registered guests, as well as answering general questions.
  • Conference staff also worked in the session halls. Here they welcomed guests and checked ID when required. They helped attendees with seating, supervised the wireless microphone during Q&As, updated the name tags on the head table and lectern between each session, and replenished head table beverages. Our staff ensured that each session ran smoothly with minimal to no disruptions.
  • In the Speaker Ready Room (SSR) our staff welcomed speakers and answered general questions- or directed them towards somebody who could answer more specific questions. They were also responsible for collecting approval from the speakers to upload their presentations online as well as tracking the upload of said presentations.
  • Lastly, Push Promotion staff assisted with the poster and exhibition area of the ESCV conference. Here, they assisted poster presenters finding and assembling their boards, and also showed exhibitors to their exhibition space and helped them to set-up.

Samsung:

Push Promotions worked alongside the marketing agency Ketchum for Samsung. We provided brand ambassadors to Samsung’s pop-up Galaxy Life Gym events in Manchester and London.

Our ambassadors were predominantly stationed on the street outside the event, handing out informative leaflets and enticing the public to participate in the event! At times they were also required to work within the pop-up, assisting with the customer journey. Our staff were engaging and enthusiastic, ensuring that members of the public had a memorable experience and that the event was a roaring success.

The pop-up was a gym experience made up of 4 zones, each targeting a different aspect of health. The event focused on endorphins and enjoying exercise, rather than calorie counting and personal bests. The 4 zones were:

  1. The Weigh(less) Zone with mindful activities
  2. The Groove Room with a drag-queen hosted dance class
  3. The Joy Room with a ball-pit
  4. The Burger Bar with a selection of multi-coloured complimentary food.
