While technically a half marathon, the Great North Run is one of the largest and most popular running events in the UK. It occurs in Newcastle and Gateshead in September and features an iconic route across the Tyne Bridge.

4. Manchester Marathon

This marathon typically takes place in April and provides runners with a chance to explore the vibrant city of Manchester.

5. Brighton Marathon

Push Promotions Promotional Staff For Marathons Experience

Push has over a decade of experience supplying promotional staff for marathons and other events (e.g. exhibitions, trade shows, shop launches, fashion shows, and conferences). All of our staff are hand-selected for each event to ensure their compatibility with the brand. Our staff are all professional, enthusiastic, and reliable, as well as highly skilled. 

We have over 3000 staff members on our books who can be booked in relatively short notice to work around the UK. We aim to provide local staff to save you money on staff transport and accommodation costs. Push can also provide promotional staff to all of the marathons mentioned above.

We have worked with various brands to promote them at marathons around the country, such as:

Aqua Pura

We provided a team of 9 brand ambassadors to work for Aqua Pura at the Great North Run in Newcastle.

6 of our brand ambassadors work at water stations along the run route. Here, they were fully involved in the whole process from loading the tables to handing out water bottles to individual runners. They worked alongside large teams of volunteers as well as the water station leaders. 

Their aim for the day was to ensure that the Aqua Pura brand remained at the forefront and that all runners left the water station with a super positive brand experience. Water station staff acted as cheerleaders for the runners, encouraging them to ‘embrace the adventure’. Moreover, our staff were given several brand-related phrases to communicate to the public throughout the day. E.g. ‘Stay refreshed with Aqua Pura’, ‘Hydrate with Aqua Pura’ and ‘Embrace the adventure’.

Finally, once all the runners had passed, water station staff helped to tidy and pack up the station.

Additionally, the 3 remaining brand ambassadors worked at the finish line, cheering on the runners and promoting the water brand to the public.

AJ Bell

We were excited to work with AJ Bell at the 2023 UK Great Runs. We are providing a team of staff to each event including brand ambassadors, mascots and chaperones. The events were as follows: The Great North Run (Newcastle), The Great Birmingham Run, The Great Bristol Run, The Great Manchester Run, The Great Scottish Run (Glasgow) and The Great South Run (Portsmouth).

Our character costume staff got dressed as AJ Bell’s pig mascot, entertaining the crowd and taking lots of photos as the pig. Mascot chaperones also worked alongside the mascot to help them dress, direct them around the area, and offer general assistance. Our mascots always get truly stuck in taking photos, attracting attention, dancing, and interacting with the crowd. 

Our Great Run brand ambassadors handed out free branded items such as buffs (headbands), caps and bells to participants and spectators. They ensure that the product samples are distributed throughout the day so each new wave of participants and spectators feels the AJ Bell love.

Additionally, we have provided event managers to oversee our teams of staff. They ensured that all jobs were completed to our high standards, and also act as a seamless point of communication between event organisers and staff on the ground.

TUI

Push supplied staff to the TUI marquee at the Great North Run where they completed various roles such as:

• Our brand ambassadors managed the flow of people to the photo backdrop and encouraged them to share photos on social media with a #TUI tag.
• Staff encouraged runners to head to the TUI marquee where they could receive a free massage
• Interacted with runners and encouraged them to go to the TUI mass stretch session

Duracell

Furthermore, Push Promotions has supplied Duracell with event staff since early 2018, and our relationship with them has thrived ever since! We have supplied staff for a variety of events around the country, for example, The Great Run, Bestival, Victorious Festival, Comicon, and retail locations such as B&M and Poundland.

At these events, we have provided brand ambassadors, event managers, mascots, exhibition and leafleting staff, and more. All of our staff were provided with extensive training prior to the promotional events and supplied with branded uniforms. 

At ‘The Great Run’ our brand ambassadors, alongside Duracell’s ‘Bunny’ mascot, encouraged runners to #run for longer- just like their iconic battery! Staff engaged with hundreds of people throughout the day, handing out pens and powerboards so the public could write supportive messages for the runners. They also took photos of the public with ‘Bunny’ and the ‘Duracell life frame’ which could be posted on social media. We ensured that ‘Bunny’, alongside their chaperone, were visible at the start and finish line high-fiving runners- TV cameras were at the finish line and could therefore help promote Duracell nationally.

ENGIE

Moreover, we were asked to provide ENGIE with brand ambassadors, event managers, general promo staff, costume character staff, and chaperones for their nationwide promotional activity at runs and marathons. Our staff has worked at ENGIE promotional activities throughout the UK in cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Portsmouth, and Glasgow. 

ENGIE provided all of our brand ambassadors with t-shirts so they were instantly recognisable on the day. Our character costume staff have extensive experience working as mascots/characters, so they are able to fully bring the character to life and engage effectively with the public.
